School Project activities pick up momentum in Gibraltar

On December 19 and 20, the Gibraltar Volleyball Association (GVA) hosted Christmas friendly games against a selection from La Linea (Spain). Children from two local major schools – Bayside and Westside, which is known as a lunchtime club – represented Gibraltar on this occasion. December 19 was reserved for U15 and U12 girls, whereas the next day U18 and U15 boys took to the court. The tournament was extremely successful, which was evident on the faces of the young players, who were overjoyed at the end. A rematch in Spain is scheduled for January.

As in November, CEV School Project activities continued this month with a project at St Joseph’s Upper Primary school, whose students are currently involved in a six-week training process. The teachers of these two classes are Ms Pincho Rioss and Ms Prior Perez.

Work in lunchtime club at the two major comprehensive schools Bayside and Westside has continued in excellent progress.
