On Sunday, San Marino emerged as the eventual winners of the men’s SCA tournament held in Torshavn, Faroe Islands, as they completed a clean sweep of their matches following a 3-0 shutout of Scotland (25-21, 25-19, 25-15). San Marino did only concede three sets in the process – as they were obviously the dominant force at the competition hosted by the Faroese Volleyball Association.

The home side could be happy with second place – after the Faroese team beat their North Atlantic rivals from Iceland 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-21) to finish their duties on a record of two wins and one loss.

Apart from the medals awarded to the top three teams, the organisers made sure that the best players from the competition received individual awards as follows:

Lorenzo Benvenuti of San Marino claimed the awards for the MVP and Best Outside Hitter of the tournament

MVP: Lorenzo Benvenuti (San Marino)

Best Opposite: Matteo Zonzini (San Marino)

Best Middle Blocker: Edward Oldbury (Scotland)
