First SCA Extraordinary General Assembly deemed successful

Article Wed, Mar 1 2023

The Small Countries Association (SCA) organised its first Extraordinary General Assembly on Monday, March 1, with most of the members coming together for an online meeting. The assembly was positive and was deemed successful and it took only a short time from the busy agenda of the SCA members.

As many as 24 teams will compete in four SCA competitions this year, starting in April in Andorra with U20 Men and Malta with U18 Women – followed by senior competitions in Luxembourg for women in May and then Scotland for men in June.

There was only one proposal to increase the daily contribution respectively allowance for players and officials to € 100 for future competitions – thus aligning the SCA provisions with those in place for CEV events. The proposal was approved with a majority vote where seven members were in favour and two abstained.

Further meetings are expected to take place in future to discuss and review the SCA Competitions Regulations.
