School Project to help move Volleyball forward in Greenland

The Volleyball season does not start in Greenland until week 43, so those working on the delivery of the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ have so far focused on discussing how they can best reach out to the schools. In week 42, Project Manager Peter Morell had an online meeting with the five delegates from Greenland that attended the CEV Coaches Convention held earlier this year in Skopje and Board of Administration member Nukannguaq Ostermann.

One of the items on the agenda was how to distribute balls and nets as best as possible and according to which criteria this should be done. To get the balls out to some remote settlements where they are to be used, they must either be sailed or flown, and in some places, it must be by helicopter.

Despite the many challenges, there is a very good atmosphere, will and motivation to work with Volleyball and the School Project among Greenlandic coaches.

“I feel like we are ready to take some big steps and move Volleyball forward in Greenland.”

Peter Morell
Project Manager
