Iceland hosts large veterans tournament

Iceland’s biggest Volleyball tournament came to an end Saturday when the Icelandic Veteran Volleyball Championships was successfully concluded. The Championships were played in 2 sports halls and 10 volleyball courts were needed to play the extensive number of matches where 140 teams played gracefully during these 3 days. It was a fun and competitive spirit that led the way during this annual volleyball festival that took place in Iceland’s biggest indoor stadium in Kópavogur. The size of this competition has grown so big that few towns can actually host this size of tournament In Iceland that attracts teams from all over the country to one place every year with around 1’500 athletes from the age of 30 and above, and requires major planning and preparation throughout the season.
