The first day of the truly historic Coaches Convention hosted by the CEV at the Slovenian mountain resort of Kranjska Gora was a real success, with as many as 96 attendees representing 28 National Federations enjoying the opportunity to learn from some of the best experts when it comes to working with young players. It was an interesting experience for all those who signed up to the convention, as they could learn some insights and small secrets as to how they can make sure that children fall in love with Volleyball at first sight.
Saturday’s programme included a theoretical session in the morning before the lecturers and the attendees moved to the local sports hall in the afternoon for practical drills and demonstrations. The young players of the Volleyball club Vital LJUBLJANA assisted the four lecturers in the delivery of the practical session.
The panel includes Remko Kenter of the Netherlands, Belgium’s Kristof De Loose, Peter Morell of Denmark and the highly successful Italian coach, Marco Mencarelli, a multiple World and European champion with Italian youth and junior national teams.

The Coaches Convention continues on Sunday morning with an open
discussion involving the speakers and the attendees. It is the first
such event hosted by the CEV in their history – which is testament to
the Confederation’s continuous efforts made at helping National
Federations and their coaches grow the game at the grassroots level.
