On Thursday 11th of October 2018 at Buckingham Palace, London – CEV Vice-President Margaret Ann Fleming was presented to her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth the Second of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

At this Royal Investiture the CEV Vice- President was awarded the great honour of becoming a Member of the British Empire for services to Volleyball (MBE).

This award was presented to her in recognition of her years of dedication, innovation, determination and commitment to our beloved sport of Volleyball and it is a real testament to the work which Margaret Ann has achieved and supported throughout her career and professional life within the UK, Europe and at World level. Special recognition was also given to her continued work within the environment of female leadership in sport.

In a statement by the Scottish Volleyball Association it was highlighted that “Scottish Volleyball is so very proud of our CEO and CEV Vice-President for this outstanding recognition and award given to her by her Majesty. It is a unique moment for Scottish and European Volleyball, truly deserved by Margaret Ann and a reflection of the immense pride we feel and share for her and our sport.”

Vice-President Fleming said “I am very much humbled by this investiture and presentation by her Royal Highness and in becoming an MBE. This award is for all of us who strive and give all of our time, energy, hope, dreams and love to Volleyball. To be recognised in such a manner is truly amazing for Scottish and European Volleyball. I am indeed overwhelmed and grateful to those who nominated me for this award and for the support of my Federation and CEV President Boricic.”
