Northern Ireland’s Volleyball family had the pleasure of hosting last week a team from Italy – US Rubierese Volley – in an effort to grow the game and provide their own players with an opportunity to develop and hone their skills.
All participants received red memento shirts at the end of the camp. The teams of Dalriada (NIR) in blue, Rubierese in white and Northern Ireland predominantly in black posed together (see above) in their respective colours for a cool group picture.
US Rubierese Volley, a team hailing from the city of Modena, the real Italian Volleyball ‘Mecca’, won the three matches 3-0. The programme of their stay in Northern Ireland included a shared coaching and drill session as well as a trip to Giant’s Causeway in County Antrim, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986.
