The Andorran Volleyball Federation held an extraordinary General Assembly on November 17 which resulted in the election of a new President and Board of Administration.
Mr Xavier Folguera Sendra was unanimously elected as the new President of the organisation, with Jordi Verdaguer set to act as Vice-President, Agustí Boldú as Secretary General and Eloi Torres as Treasurer. Mr Folguera has been a member of the Board of Administration of the Andorran Volleyball Federation for many years already.
The son of the newly elected President, Xavier Folguera Estruga, is a two-time gold medallist from the Beach Volleyball competition of the Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE). He achieved this feat in 2011 in Vaduz together with former partner Christian Salvador, with whom he also won a bronze medal in 2009 in Limassol (Cyprus), and last year in Reykjavik along with Cassiano da Silva – after the same two players claimed a bronze medal in the 2013 edition of the GSSE held in Luxembourg.
