DC Luxembourg successfully delivers ninth edition of International Youth Camp

48 young players and eight coaches representing as many as six different nations joined the ninth edition of the annual Foto Camp 2016International Youth Volleyball Camp organised by the FIVB/CEV Development Centre Luxembourg.

During the five-day-long camp, the participants joined Volleyball, Beach Volleyball and physical training sessions, plus an attractive programme including a number of side activities.

The Luxembourg Volleyball Federation (FLVB) proudly presented the new Beach Volleyball area. With the addition of Beach Volleyball, the programme of the camp was extremely diverse and enjoyable. “These Beach Volleyball courts are a big plus for the camp and an additional opportunity for our federation to grow young athletes,” says FLVB President Guy Erpelding.

Once again the camp was placed under the guidance of Ruben Wolochin, the Argentinean-born head coach of Germany’s elite Volleyball Club TV Ingersoll BÜHL.

Wolochin said: “The quality of the sport facilities is really amazing. The coaches find here everything they need to grow the sport. I am sure that the future will show us a stable and steady development. My congratulations, I will keep my eyes on the FLVB, because a lot of young players can become very interesting for professional clubs. Once again: I’m very proud of what we delivered and very pleased with the organisational level and also with the collaboration with this now well-established Development Centre here in Luxembourg.”

The Director of the Luxembourg Development Centre, Burkhard Disch, says: “The positive cooperation between Ruben and our coaches was very productive. I am very happy that every year young players participate in our camp which in 2017 will celebrate its tenth anniversary. Our goal after last year’s edition to increase the number of participants was not fulfilled, but I think that we definitely reached the major goal. We delivered a great camp for the kids, which they will never forget. I am sure that the combination of Volleyball, Beach Volleyball and fun activities is key to inspire our young generations. Many thanks to all those who attended the camp and as well as to all coaches and staff members who gave it all to motivate the participants!”

The DC in Luxembourg invites all young players born after 1999 to the tenth edition of its annual camp which is due to take place on July 14-19, 2017.
