#Road to Rio coming to Luxembourg

Only a few weeks away from the most anticipated Volleyball competition of the year 2016, the men’s and women’s European Olympic qualification tournaments which are due to take place in early January, this coming Friday, December 11, starting at 1pm CET the home of European Volleyball in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg will be playing host to a special promotional event under the slogan ‘On the #RoadToRio’.

This is a real premiere in many different ways since the state-of-the-art premises where the CEV headquarters are based in Luxembourg City are just about to open their doors for the first time to a number of Volleyball personalities and to host an event which will set the tone for the much anticipated tournaments coming up in early January.

The participants and also those following the event on social media will get to feel the Olympic spirit and the unique aura of the world’s largest sporting event when distinguished members of Europe’s Volleyball family come together on Friday to officially launch the race whereby two teams – one per gender – will eventually secure their participation in the Volleyball competition of the Rio 2016 Olympics.

Europe’s contingent for next year’s Olympic Games already includes Serbia’s women’s and Italy’s men’s national teams after these finished as runners-up at the FIVB World Cup held earlier this summer in Japan.

This unique event will be covered extensively also on the CEV social media pages and you will be able to follow it by searching for the hashtag #RoadToRio.

Stay tuned to know more about who is going to take centre stage come Friday…
